Welcome to the forum. I hope you find a lot out about diabetes. There can never be too much knowledge disseminated about diabetes.

But I think unless mom is very old and infirm, she might need to be taking care of herself. It's that kind of condition. It highly involves the person with diabetes themselves, and learning about it is half the battle. Do encourage her to do so.

It's great that you're wanting to learn more about diabetes, because if your mom is a Type 2 diabetic, you also have a family history of diabetes as well. Keeping yourself healthy, watching your weight and getting regular exercise will help you avoid diabetes in your future.
