Hi all,
I'm new to the forum, but not to diabetes type II. Long story short, I finally started taking meds ([Januvia 100 mg) 3 months ago to address the issue. Got my 3 mos. A1C back today and NO CHANGE.
Doc prescribed and gave samples of Janumet 50/500. He told me to take it with a meal. Okay --- that's fine. My problem is am I supposed to only take ONE per day? (I know -- call the doctor and clarify dummy!!) He didn't write out any script and gave me enough samples for 3 mos. at ONE per day.
Seems strange that I'd be dropping the Januvia (sitagliptin) side of the med by 50 mgs per day.
I promise to call him tomorrow, but wondered if this was common to have a doc make this particular type of change. What is the point of continuing to take sitagliptin if it didn't do anything, much less at half the dose?
I've read some of the posts here and feel a certain "buzz" of excitement about making positive changes in our lives. I was a caregiver for awhile and forgot to take care of myself. Now is my time I guess.
Thanks for any input! :)
