Today, I celebrate 2 yrs of being on my pump. It's been a learning experience and a wonderful adventure. To my guardian angel, if you are reading this, Thank you most of all and I love you to death. :)

Congrats, Cin! How exciting. Any plans on upgrading or you going to see it through another year?

I hit 2 years in September. It's been a treat, weird as that may sound.

Yeah, it's hard to believe that it has been 2 yrs. Time really does fly by.

I was hoping to keep using it until it or me decided to fade away but my endo says he would prefer I go to another manufacturer since Smith's is out of the business. :(

Smiths have said they will honour all pumps for the next 4 years and all consumables will be available as well.
So can't see what your endo's problem is.

Well done on being two years in - that'll be about 240 set changes :)

Whilst that sounds a lot, it would have been around 3000 injections, and that's if you didn't ever correct or eat outside normal times.

Sue, I have no warranty with this pump.

Why? Can't you just wait to switch until your pump quits on you and you HAVE to switch? I really don't see what the problem is there... at all. Worst case you'd be back on MDI for a few weeks - that's far from the end of the world :)

I don't know why it's a big deal with him. I guess he would feel better with me having one under warranty and since my ins has never had to purchase one for me, he sees no problem with me getting a new one. Yeah right! Read my lips "BCBS". lol
