I'm a type 1, have been for 29 years. About 5 years ago, I started experiencing insulin resistance which led to the vicious cycle of weight gain and more insulin resistance.
Three months ago I was taking a total of around 150-200 units of insulin / day in the form of 50% lantus 50% humalog.
At that time, I started taking 500mg of a very high quality brand of transresveratrol.
Within a month, my TDI had come down to 110 units per day and within 3 months my TDI was down to 90 units per day. A big improvement.
Subsequently, I've started using a pump and now have a TDI of approximately 85 units per day and still decreasing.
Best thing, I'm able to actually lose weight again.
I'm pretty sure all of this is directly attributable to the transresveratrol supplementation though the last 10% is certainly due to the pump.
Seriously, this is working for me. But it's working so well I'm a little concerned that perhaps I have an insulin producing tumor somewhere. :-)
