ok, for the past 10 hours my sugars will not come down for nothing. it's staying right around 220. i've taken mutiple injections and boluses and increased my basal by 200% and it's not moving. i've taken way more insulin that i should of needed, like 5-6 times the amount. i haven't eaten in over 12 hrs. i changed my site just in case it was that. i'm not sick... what else is left, i'm getting real frustrated w/ this.

It sounds like a bad set. When did u change it?

Try injecting with a syringe. I use my triceps for such occaisions. Set alarms through the night(day) because you are now at serious risk of going hypo if it decides to all kick in.

Agreed. When this happens to me, it's because the insulin gets sort of trapped wherever the set is, and then releases all at once -- like a bubble popping. I once dropped from 320 to 62 in under 45 minutes when that bubble burst.

i did use a syringe, twice so far and nothing happened. i'm thinking of trying a new bottle of insulin next. i won't go to bed until this is under control and i know it's safe to. i just don't know why this is happening.

Did you have a hypo earlier - a nasty rebound?

glad to hear things are ok now.

was it because of a new bottle of insulin?, or did the other stuff finnally kick in?

well things are back to normal this morning. i guess the insulin finally kicked in, cause i did start to go a little low but nothing too bad last night. just wish i knew what was the cause.

That is awfully high, but maybe your liver got stuck in high gear?

Is your insulin okay? Are you still using the same?

Anyhow glad it worked out -- seemed a tad worrisome to me!
