I've been on a pump for the past 4 yrs. About 5 yrs ago I became allergic to adhesive. The round burn marks from my site adhesive were SO itchy, but I thought I didn't have any other options. SO out of the blue, a few months ago my supply company started sending "protective barrier wipes" that really seem to help, they are the size of an alcohol square. A few weeks ago I started using the CGM sensor and the adhesives are KILLING me!!!!! the itching is driving me mad, I use the wipes but it makes no difference at all. I have almost knocked the sensor out many times just from absent mindly scratching at the tape. My DE gave me tegaderm that drove me mad and so then she suggested that I cut it into strips and make an "X" on the sensor. This has helped but I am still itching, probably from the adhesive pad that the sensors come with. I've even broken out in blisters from it!
Anyone else have this problem?
What types of tapes/ dressing does everyone use?

Hiya,
Have you tried skin tac? That works a treat for me. Also Cavilon works as a fantastic barrier too. Use the spray not the gel.
I hope you stop itching soon and or someone else can come up with some ideas for you.
Have you tried an allergist or a dermatologist? They have some Rx tools that could help. My dermatologist has prescribed some ointments and creams over the years for me that are helpful.
I had itching at sites (and also from band-aids, even the "sensitive skin" type - and now have settled on Tegaderm HP. The regular tegaderm made me itch/rash etc, but the HP works.
I hope something works for you!
