Hi everyone, I'm Pennylane.
I was dX with type 1 diabetes almost 21 years ago and its been a struggle since day one... I have no history of Diabetes in my family so when I found out at the age of 12 I felt like this journey was going to be my own. 21 years later the first of my complications have arrived: Cataracts. I'll be going into surgery in just 2 days folks! wish me well....

Welcome to the forum pennylane! hope all goes well with the surgery, any consolation, my wife had hers done a few years ago, immediately after the operation she said to me it's like having new eyes, I'm sure all will be well, good luck, and a speedy recovery.
