hey all , names Justin , Nice to meet ya

gonna be posting a few questions , i know i am a type 2 diabetic have been sense i was 18 well i am 24 now and i think i may be a type 1 diabetic now and i am a little scared. here's what happened

2 days ago my mother bought me a new V8 splash , it was diet and i assumed off the bat it had NO sugar well it turns out it had 2grams per 8 ounces , i drank at least 50-55 ounces of it before i even realized what was going on my sugar spiked to 500 , i took my pills AS SOON as i found out , i dont take insulin and haven't sense i was 19. well 2 days have passed and it just seems like my sugars staying high and wont go down by its self or with pills any more

ok let me next say i dont have cash and no insurance (once i became a diabetic they threw me off my plan and i havent been able to get it sense cause i live with my parents whom only one of them work)

i used to rest of my testing supply's and i cant check my sugar any more , i called up breeze there sending me strips so i can at least test it

when i went to bed that night i did it my sugar was 460 the next day i was forced to take my bike out in cold *** weather so i can work off the sugar , i had to do that again today cause i woke up and my sugar was STILL 200 , after all night of not eating anything but some potato's and a little meat , it just seems like it wont go down any more and i really dont know what i should do so i was hoping to come here for advice

sorry for ranting

Welcome Justin! Sounds like you do need to get to your doctor. What meds do you take for your diabetes? If you're having really high levels like that, i'd encourage you to really watch your diet. Avoiding "white" foods like potatoes, rice, pasta and bread will help, as will avoiding fruit juices.

I'm betting insulin would be the best thing to help get your blood sugars under control. I'm sure you feel quite awful with numbers that high, and there is a definite risk of damage to your eyes and kidneys as well.

If you can't afford to go to a doctor, perhaps the local health department or even an emergency room would be an option. You need to get your blood sugar levels down quickly.
