Does anyone who takes Lantus and/or Byetta find that they are short of breath? I am always short of breath, and I don't know if it's due to the Byetta, the Lantus, or something else. It gets to be really bothersome when you get up out of your chair, walk to the next room and you're panting.....as if you just walked up several flights of stairs.

I take Lantus and have not noticed a shortness of breath, but that is something you really need to ask your doc about and don't wait, if you are having a reaction you need to find out soon. :(

for a while I was taking both Byetta and Lantus and did not notice any shortness of breath. I agree with the other posters that you should check with your doctor.

:) Hi Hammer,
I have been taking lantus for over 2 years now and Byetta
on and off for over 18 months. Over the last 12 months of so noticed becoming short of breath. Went to Drs as have heard inderal can cause this. Dr was going to stop that but when asked what to replace it with he said oh well stay on it. Gave me seritide puffer to take twice a day.
At present I have a virus making me more short of breath was given a form to get chest xray ao will get that done soon.
I am over weight and wondered if that had someting to do with it but have always been this way.
I had never thought of the Lantus or Byetta. You have given me something else to think about.
I would still suggest you see your Dr and see what they have to say.
Evan though it is enoying it's good to know I'm not the only one having these problems
I never experience shortness of breath when I was taking byetta and lantus. I do take bloodpressure meds and have experience a cough and shortness of breath from different ones.

I agree with the other posters. I am not on byetta now & have never taken it, but the lantus I take has not caused shortness of breath. I have been on it since January. By all means, check with your doc!
