This is just a poll (didn't make a thread poll due to the large variance of numbers and different units) for Everybody who wants to share their numbers.
-First whats the highest blood sugar number you've ever recorded?
-Second whats the lowest blood sugar number you've ever recorded?
Both figures apply to the entire time you've been diabetic or pre-diabetic.
I'm also making this thread since I've personally had really bad/frightening numbers at both ends...
I'll start :)
-When I was initially diagnosed almost 8 yrs ago, my blood sugar when I got to the hospital was at a stratospheric 55 or 56 mmol/L; or 990-1008 mg
-And then, one time a few years ago (paramedics had to called for this one), I was at a dangerously low 0.7 mmol/L; or 12 mg
Both cases doctors said I was nearly in a comatose state.
So lets hear some others, I know that fortunately, most of you won't be nearly as high or as low as me... :)
64 on glimepiride was my lowest to date.
454 was my high -- the night I got a meter and made an MD appt!

Cool thread. I'm afraid that I don't really fit in very well, actually. I'll answer anyway to hopefully keep it going. :P
My highest was 320 upon diagnosis.
My lowest has been 81 (one before dinner reading).

The lowest I can recall seeing on my metre was 1.7.

49.9 mmol/L or 900 mg upon diagnosis
0.5 mmol/L or 10 mg
Same boat as Maddogg. Close to comatose on diagnosis.
Woke up in ICU with my low.
I am told I am quite lucky in both cases.

Highest was over 500 the night I got a meter and went to the ER! After that, one time I forgot to take insulin for a meal and went up too 400.
Lowest was 27, scarily I was walking around and talking and just felt a little strange.
Never been unconscious.
Highest was at diagnosis in DKA - 750+
Lowest was 25 about a week out of hospital when I was still trying to sort it all out. Like CarrieJett, I didn't pass out...just felt really odd.

At diagnoses I was 80-ish mmol/L (about 1500 mg) - that put me in a coma for about a day.
The lowest I've ever recorded was about 1.6 mmol/L (about 29 mg). I'm sure I've had lowers levels but I usually don't mess around with the meter when I know I'm low.
I just Googled "highest recorded blood glucose" and it looks like some kid was diagnosed with 2330 mg (about 130 mmol/L). That's pretty crazy.
At DX 550
Lowest was 80

That I've seen in recent memory
H: 24.5 (440)
L: 1.9 (34)
I can't ever recall any higher, but I'm sure I've been in single digits (either scale) a few times.

The lowest that I was able to test by myself was 18 mg/dl, and I've done that twice on my meter(s). I don't know how much lower I had to go before passing out, which I've also done too many times. One time after passing out at work a co-worker called 911. I came to as I was being wheeled into the ER and heard the paramedics say that I was "up to" 25, but I was still too foggy to ask what I was before.
I have no idea what my number was when I was diagnosed. I knew nothing about diabetes and the number, had they even told me, would have meant nothing. My mother told me later that the ER doctor said that I should be dead, so I'm guessing it was very high.

My highest was 330, never did figure out that reading. Normally my highest is 280.
My lowest was 45 following the OGTT. And no, I do not take any meds and am still officially prediabietic. (Lousy 3 points on the OGTT. Grrr.)

Lowest was under 10mg. After that the meter at the Health Care Center at work couldn't read it, it just told them low. I spoke to them the entire time which kind of freaked them out. I was answering their questions and kept asking what the new readings were and joking with them. When it was all over I looked like someone had dumped a 5 gallon bucket of water on me. They told me that I was lucky and that I should have had a seizure or passed out.
Highest was in the 600s.

Highest was in the 300s as far as I know. I don't know that I've ever gone above 350 (at least knowingly).
Lowest was just in the 70s. I have never experienced a hypo to my knowledge.

Today was the highest ever for me. At the two hour glucose test, 351. WTH. Second highest would be an hour later at home, 302. My 5 AM reading this morning was 80. so... um, I never want to take this test again.
lowest couldn't be measured on my machine. It gave me a "Lo" instead of a number. I thought the batteries were low, and it wasn't working. Turns out it won't measure under 20. The lowest one that did measure is 49. Both those were when I was on glimepiride (amaryl).

Highest measured: 548 (diagnosis)
Lowest measured: 28 (after a day of sledding, I drove home without an issue then tested when I got home. I had my fiance (girlfriend at the time) run and grab me some sprite.)
I'm sure I've been lower than 28 at some point, but my policy if I am 100% sure of a low is to treat first and test on the upswing. No need to endanger myself just so my endo can look at the meter printout and say "oh, you were pretty low there...".

Daaammn!!
So far, the highest blood sugar posted in this thread was for 1500 or 83 mmol/L.
And the lowest was below 10 or <0.5 mmol/L
Those are some Scary numbers folks! Glad to hear those kinds of numbers very rarely happen.
Most glucose meters can even record those levels.... they'll just have that "Oh Sh*t" message on the screen lol.

The highest I was aware of was 430 something, but once had a reading of "Hi", don't know what that meant. I had a 32 once in the hospital....at 43, the nurses went into a panic, but I sometimes have a 40 something, before I notice going low. A couple of glucose tabs take care of it, usually.

Highest was 1,254 mg/dl while I was in a coma in the ER. That was about three weeks ago which is when I was first dx.
Lowest was 32 last week cause I took the prescribed amount of insulin and then ate an almost no-carb meal. I'm real new to this so I'm still learning.

When I took my child to the ER ( thinking she was dehydrated and had the flu) she drank half a 24 oz slush a couple hours before......
She was 3700 they could not believe it!!!
After 3 1/2 hours on insulin she was 2100.
She was awake the whole time never went into a coma, thank god
This is when and how she was diagnoised.

Thanks, Poppy! Frank you are scathingly funny!
My highest was the 288 after drinking the OGTT (oral Glucose Tolerance Test) liquid. Well, that was two hours after, so I guess I must've peaked higher than that.
It's what got me diagnosed. My FBGs were still under 100 at that point.
My lowest was a 68 at about 2AM... before having a rather large liver glucose dump. I woke up with double that number by 7AM.

700+ at dx (End of August, 2009. I went in DKA, and I swear they said 400 something but my friend heard 700+ and I tend to believe her since I'm not sure I was in any sort of condition to actually pay attention.)
36 a couple of days ago - just some bad timing with my insulin injection and my food, I think. :)

highest without being hospitalized - 33.3 / 600 (or higher, machine stops there and displays HI after)
lowest without being hospitalized - 1.2 / 21 - 22 (machine puts LO for anything under that)
highest with being hospitalized - 55+ / 990+ (their meter didn't go any higher, but my blood had crystalized in my veins...)
lowest with being hospitalized - under 1 / under 18 (again, their meter didn't read under that but i was passed out and they had to give me 5 glucagon shots just to get me up enough to give me reg. coke)
