View Full Version : Im new here
Doctors believe I have either Mody or start of type 1. I also have Graves disease (over active thyroid). Sugars are not to high, fasting levels are high 7's. My doctor has decided to put me on one dose of long lasting insulin a day to make me feel better whilst they do further testing. Can anyone tell me if being on insulin really does make you feel better????

If your BG levels are too high it will make you feel better. That is my experience. :D
Ok thank you for that, Im so confused doctors have been testing me for over a year now and they cant quite figure out what's going on. I just didn't want to go on the insulin if its not really needed, but do look forward to having energy again.

from my experience, yes, it will...almost immediately.
however, i remember when i first started using it, and my blood sugar was back in the "normal" range after running high so long, i felt "fuzzy" and disoriented at times as well.
that lasted a few weeks, then it subsided...so if that happens...it's completely normal ;-)
good luck!

Hi Ash & Welcome to the forum.
I would recommend a C-peptide and/or a GAD Antibody test to determine what type of diabetes you have.
