I take neurotin for neuropathic pain. I take 3 a day now, increased by my endo a month ago.
My healthcare provider nurse calls and checks on me. I told her
I am still having a lot of pain. She told me to ask the endo for lyrica along with the neurontin. Does anyone else take the two at the same time?

I attended a talk by a doctor discussing neuropathy last week. She said Lyrica was an update of Neurontin, with less of Neurontin's side effects. Neurontin is also known as gabapentin. The doctor said Neurontin's most-often complained about side effect is that it makes people feel like zombies. (Not the technical term. )

As for taking them together, she didn't mention it.

I would not advise taking Neutontin + Lyrica.

What dose of Neuontin(R) (generic is gabapentin) are you taking? I take 4 -300mg capsules n teh evening and it works fine. Gabapentin has very few side effects compared to Lyrica. So I would advise increasing teh gabapentin does. You can go as high at 1800 mg (My dose is 1200 mg)
