I reached my desired weight of 170 lbs. last week, but am continuing to loose. I am at 168. I don't want to loose any more. What do I need to do to maintain my weight? I have lost a total of 30 lbs since Feb. of this year.

Congrats on the weight loss!

What did you do to lose the weight?

Maybe you'll reach a 'plateau' soon?

How is your BG control?

Thanks, but I am ready to stop the weight loss. My fbg avg over the past 15 days is 111 and 2 hr after meal avg is 126.

I have been on low carb, ton of water and walking 1 mile a night. I seem to be getting a little weak feeling. I must be missing something in my diet or could be Neuropothy bothering me.

I have been low carbing for 8 years. I would just raise my carb intake by about 5 per day for a week or so until you find the amount that holds your weight where you want it. If you begin to gain weight back down a bit.

When I want to slow down or stop my weight loss I usually will up my carbs or calories a bit. When I say up my carbs I don't mean like adding chips or junky stuff like that. :) I just increase the portions of the ones I am already eating or add another healthy carb choice. If you don't want to go that way then maybe try eating a bit more calories. Extra meat, fat, etc. At least that has worked for me.

You might also increase the protein.

some nuts like macadamias, pine nuts, walnuts etc are pretty low carb and high calorie.

Adding nuts might be the best way. Most shouldn't have an impact on your BS if you eat them in moderation, but you won't know for sure until you test. Little buggers are loaded with calories and healthy fats.

Here's the good thing Jps. I absolutely love nuts, all kind of them and keep them around the house all the time. Think I'll go have some.:D

remember that not all nuts are created equal - and that not all nuts are nuts! Peanuts, for example, are legumes and pretty high-carb compared to nuts. Others are really loaded with calories - and it's very hard not eat a whole packet once you've started :) Read the labels ...

YMMV!

We keep a bowl of raw almonds on the table, just like some people keep a candy dish.

This tells me you are starving yourself, hence the weakness. Add some fats and proteins. We can't thrive on rabbit food only.

I guess I was  I did some changing over the weekend in adding some protein bars and some fat. (Fried Chicken, just enough to satisfy my Southern Craving). Didn't effect my BS at all and even picked up a couple of Lbs. Feel much better.:D

Did I read that article correctly? 45-60 grams of carb PER MEAL??? Sounds potentially yummy, but I'd need to be on insulin to safely eat that many carbs...or become a triathelete.
I eat that many carbs per day.
