So I go to test tonight...and I notice that the top of my vial of (Aviva) strips had popped open (or I didn't shut it right).
Anyway, with the first strip, I get ERR...tried another...ERR. Tried 3 or 4 more...same thing.
ARRGGGH, I had just started that vial and I pay for the **** things myself.
Make sure that lid's on tight, folks!

Hope you're getting them online, somewhere, for less than they charge at a pharmacy!

More than likely all that's happened is moisture. You might try putting them in a towel and warming them up with a hair dryer and then putting them back in the container and letting them reach room temperature again.

And I hope it was only 25 strips & no more. :( :( :(

You could try calling the company. Often times they will send you a new bottle. It is up to you whether or not you say that left the bottle open. If you tell them you are getting so many errors they will send you new strips and they might send you a new meter as well. They get so much of our money it is important to get something back when you can.

Oh well, that vial is toast....I had hoped that over night with the lid on tight they might "rejuvenate" themselves...nope.
I do buy them online, so it was only a $20sumpin mistake (for 50)...but the free shipping option means I won't see the new ones for about a week or so.
I'm off to Wally's for some strips for my cheapo meter, which I think reads low, but it's better than nuthin. No way I'm springing for 58 bucks at CVS! LOL

If you are low income and have no insurance.. Abbott (makers of Freestyle branded meters) has a PPA. You can call their number (listed at http://www.abbottdiabetescare.com/adc_dotcom/url/home/en_US and ask for the patient Assistance programme manager. You will have to jump through some red tape, but it can be managed. They will require 1. letter of medical necessity/prescription from doctor, 2. denial letter for medicaid assistance 3 income verification. They on their part will (if you meet their guidelines) will fill the rx for the amount of strips that your doctor has ordered, and same amt of lancets, and if you do not have one of their meters, a Freestyle or precision meter for FREE. and they ship free also.. to you
