View Full Version : Feel funny at times when Blood Sugar is fine

Why do I feel funny like I'm Hypoglycemic when my Blood Sugar is in "normal" range?When I feel this way,I have to rule out 4 things. 1) Hyperglycemia 2) Hypoglycemia 3) Anxiety/Stress and 4) Hunger pangs.After eating,the feeling passes.I haven't been Diabetic for a lengthy time,or had extremely elevated Blood Sugar's.My Grandmother experienced Symptoms of Hypoglycemia when her Blood Sugar ranged 80s-90s.What is impairment of Glucose tolerance?

Well your body could not be use to low numbers and act like you hypo. After awhile your body should adjust and you should really not feel it. There were times when i first was diagnised i felt i had a hypo, checked and found i was readinf a 120 not low to normal standards but low to me because i started out fasting at a 304 so that 120 felt low to me

After being Diagnosed,it took almost 1 Year to have 2 readings in the 80s..an 87 and 85 respectively.I didn't feel "funny",I was scared to have the readings.These "funny" feelings happen when I go without eating,and my BS is 102-124..never had an FBS in the 200s,and I don't have Glucosuria (just adding in).

"Funny" doesn't give us much to go by. Hypoglycemia symptoms can vary a lot. What specifically is happening? Do you mean dizziness or weakness? Have you been checked for anemia or low blood pressure? What does your doctor say?

Trying to describe best I can..I feel hungry,empty and a nervousness..no Dizziness or weakness.I am slightly Anemic.Haven't had chance to discuss with my Doctor.

Definitely run it by your doc. I suspect they should have some basic diagnostics to try and get to the bottom of it.

When I was put on metformin it seemed I could never eat enough, this lasted about 5 months. My Dr said this was normal due to the meds and my body making changes to a more normal BG.

I took Metformin for a short while (Until I developed excruciating Leg pain!).
