Last time I had Labs, which was early October,my FBS at Home on Meter was 102.Couple Hours later when I went for Labs,it was 130 through Blood drawn out of my Vein.Asked a Phlebotomist if FBS is higher through Veins. She told me,"No!"..

And she's right, but a couple of hours is plenty of time for that to happen, even though (I assume) you didn't eat. Glucose is often provided by our livers when our blood levels are getting low, so your liver coulda squeezed some more into your blood stream. Our home meters vary also, which is another thing to consider.

What you might do is take your meter along next time you have blood drawn, and take a test with it at the same time, just for comparison.

A lot can happen in a couple of hours! If you want to compare, you are best to take a test at the time or within a few minutes of the blood being drawn.

If you were using an older meter that gives whole blood results, then an equivalent result would be legitimately lower that lab results - about 10% if I recall correctly. Most modern meters are calibrated with "plasma" readings, lab results.

Other things that could have affected bg that quickly:

Mood changes
Hydration level
Chewing gum
Walking around for a few minutes

I agree with Subby here. If you're going to compare your meter to your doctor's office, the best way to do so is to do both tests as closely together as possible.

Also, my bg seems to naturally go higher mid morning after I have been up for a few hours no matter what I do... some of us are simply more sensitive to insulin at certain times of day than others.

Granny Shanny,
I was NPO..so you are saying my Liver dumped Glucose into my Blood stream because my BS was getting low,or from no Food?

Subby,
I have Anticipatory Anxiety,so when I get in my Car to go anywhere,I exerience it.Anticipating, being fearful or Stress can elevate BS.I use One Touch Ultra Mini, which gives whole Blood results..

Moonglo,
I knew my FBS would be higher on the Labs.I even told the Receptionist before Blood was drawn!Would say mood changes affected it..I'm gonna Test closely using my Meter with the Labs next time.My Doctor is unaware my FBS @ Home was lower..

Granny Shanny,

From both. Not eating does cause your glucose levels to drop at first. But the body has a "plan B" incorporated in its survival mechanism, so if the dropping glucose level triggers the liver, that organ can and sometimes WILL, convert its stores of glycogen into glucose, and proceed to feed it into your blood stream. So yes, not eating can lead to liver dump which means higher readings.

I'm bedeviled with Dawn Phenomenon, which amounts to the same thing. I'm asleep through the night, and about 5 a.m., my glucose begins to drop low enough that my liver thinks I need a boost to start my new day, so it releases some from its stores, and bingo! I wake up high.
