Be careful as diabetics if you ever need hospital care. I've been receiving IV treatments for the past 2 weeks for a persistant ear infection. I have to go to the hospital as an outpatient 3 times a day @ 7a.m., 3p.m. and 11p.m. (at the ER dept). Last night I had a low blood sugar episode at the ER appt and the nurse told me "I have to get permission beforeI give you any crackers to raise your blood sugar". Granted it was my fault for not having a granola bar in my purse or glucose tablets.
Then this morning at the 7 a.m. treatment the nurse said "How many of these treatments have you had? We don't have record of any treatments done in the ER?" Who is supposed to keep records of this......me or the nurse?????
Sorry for the rant, I just get so frustrated!!!
