I've been having a really hard time ever since the clocks turned back. I tried setting my basals an hour earlier, but that was a huge mistake--got my first 300 reading in over a year that night. Now I've set the time back (forward?) to what it was before as well as changed my basals to their old times, and while I'm still shooting up into the 180 range two or three times a day, at least it's not 300. I dunno, I feel really sick and worried that I've lost control. :( My daily basals have gone from 23 units to over 26 now, which is really high for me. It's so discouraging to see 150 readings or wake up in the middle of the night at 190! I really resent the time changes, it almost always messes me up because my basals are so variant.

When the clocks change you should change your pump time and leave your basal profile (times/doses) the same. I had a messy day the next day as well, my regime was out of whack but after a few days everything settled down. Don't panic, try to reset any pump changes you made after the clocks changed. I would exercise a degree of caution when ever changing pump settings. It's very easy to tweak, I do it all the time but not always for the better ;).
All you needed to do is change clock time on pump when you go to bed.
Lot's of people find their basals change with the weather too so that could also be another reason for your highs.
Just take a deep breath and start to do some basal testing. It should be simple enough to sort out.

This is basically like a very small jetlag issue. Your basals are tied to your 24 hour biological rhythms. One is sleep, there are others that go with the ebb and flow of the day. It makes sense that if you have dynamic basals and you move your pump settings back or forward an hour, there might be some mismatches until your body catches up with the new rhythm. Which should hopefully be just a couple of days. That said, just changing the pump time should be all that is needed. I suggest if things are problematic, change the time on your pump more gradually from the basis of your established body clock to the new time. For example
Day 1 10am on pump, 10am other time
----- Daylight savings hits ----- (hour forward)
Day 2 go forward 30min to 10.30am on pump, 11am other time
Day 3 go forward 30 min to 11am on pump, 11am other time
You could do the "day 2" scenario for a few days. Or do it in smaller increments if you really feel the need. Just don't use your pump time to go to any work interviews! :)
If things are going right out of whack, and things don't settle down in a few days, I'd suspect coincedence with getting sick or something else.
