Welcome to the forum.

Humalog & Novolog are the same, it's what one prefers. I have always used Novolog and my brother has always used Humalog.

They are extremely similar, but small differences. (competing brands). I don't sit well with Humalog, it gives me a bit of nausia and the action is a bit slower. I'm sure for the majority of people they work the same to all intents and purposes. Others here have reported the opposite, Humalog seeming a little faster for them. It's individual.

What source suggests that Novolog doesn't last as long in the pump? As both insulin are made to last at least 28 days in normal temperature, the 3 or maybe 5 or 6 days a pump reservoir is in use, should not pose a problem...

Was on Humalog for several years with the pump. My Endo suggested going with Novolog as I was trying once again back then to tighten control and was hitting the lows very hard.
He said the literature indicates Novolog will act a little slower and may allow enough time for one to feel the effects before hitting the bottom and getting in trouble there.
Also at least at that time Humalog did show some tendency to chrystalize when used in a pump. I don't think I ever saw that.
The switch actually made little difference in the lows. Just made me feel like I was doing something good.

I had far more set problems with Humalog. Novorapid (Novolog) is much more pump friendly. My pharmacist also thinks Humalog crystalizes too easy.
