so went to get my freakin labs this morning. they had a **** of a time getting my blood, then after poking and prodding dr said I am dehydrated.

I have noticed peeing less and dry skin last couple weeks, but
why?

I must not be drinking enough? is that why? I have not been paying attention, so busy with abby here.

is there some horrible reason this could happen that I do not know about?

bs has been stable.

Kelli, you mentioned you were smoking again somewhat recently? If so, that could be it, if you are not gulping down a lot of water all day. Smoking dehydrated the **** out of me.

Otherwise... weather change? Location change (work etc)? Using a heater/air conditioner? BGs up?

6 days clean on the smoking agian. not happy but ya know, gonna have to find a way to be excited about it. instead of depressed and nervous.

there has been a weather change.

cold weather. and heater is on. hmmmmm. doctor told me to eat more. and drink more. not eating enough, not drinking enough. I only lost 2 lbs last 3 months but he says he thinks I eat so little that my metabolism has shut down. what??? and he doesn' think that is a good blood sugar plan either.

I actually feel like I eat enough but I am going to go back to counting calories to see.

so I am going to drink my 8 glasses of water a day. and count my calories.

bs is fine.

just wondered if I was having some symptom of some pending horrible thing.

wierd, lost 70 lbs in 6 months after diagnosis, doing about the same thing and lost 6 lbs next 6 months. so maybe my dr is right.

Kelli, it is progressively tougher to lose as you get close to a healthy weight. The first excess pounds usually come off easier. And, there are lots of things that can cause plateaus, including keeping the same exercise regimen. Try changing up your activity plan - if you walk a lot, back off on that & throw in some strength training. Your body gets used to whatever you do & compensates.

As to your original question, just the seasonal change & being subjected to artificial heating will have some impact. My skin is much itchier than it was all summer & I know that's why.

Kelli, good on you for tackling the smoking, I'm sure going without always takes you closer to saying goodbye to it. I would say that if you haven't made an effort to replenish water in the body these past few days, your smoking up to 6 days ago could still be affecting you a little, amongst probably other things like the air change. See how you go concentrating on downing your x glasses of water for a while.

As for dehydration indicating horrible things: personally I just don't know of anything that would be obvious for someone to suggest. It seems likely to just be a combo of lifestyle factors. If it doesn't seem to let up with some big drinking for a few days, (and any other adjustments you can make) maybe back to the doc to ask about other possibilities.
