Anyhow Big Hi from Montreal. i'm 62 and a retired dairy plant worker, got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 10yrs ago and my sugar levels have been out of control ever since,,hoping to get some good advice here..
At the moment i'm taking
Metformin 850mg 3 times a day.
Glyburide 5mg 2 tablets twice a day.
Januvia 100mg once a day.
Lantus 60mg injection once a day.
Crestor 20mg once a day.
Micardis 80mg once a day.
If insurance wasnt covering the cost i doubt i could afford to be diabetic

Hi there.
Your sugar levels are out of control even with all of the meds you take? Hmmm. What's your basic diet like? The first thing I did was cut out the white stuff...rice, bread, pasta, flour, sugar, and anything containing flour and sugar. It makes a big difference in one's blood glucose levels.
So does walking.
Welcome to DF. Let us know how we can be of help.
I like your sense of humor...

Welcome.
There's a few Montrealers here, but they haven't been real active lately.
Cutting out white stuff really is what you need to do. Most of our dietitians got it wrong. They push oo many carbs on us. I try for 50-80g of carbs a day.
