So did anyone else read the article in "Diabetes Health" magazine (March 2005) about the new CoPilot software that is available for downloading from your FreeStyle meter?

Well I did. The reviewer liked it for several reasons, especially because of the nifty graphing and charting features it had.

OK, wow, great, big deal, you say... I can download from my FreeStyle meter currently into one of several programs already... big woop! Well, I say big woop!

The article reported you can also import readings from the Deltec CozManager software. And as we all know, there are no graph or chart capabilities in that application. The CozManager application is conspicously lacking in that area.

The article claimed you could download it from the web for free, or have it sent to you for a modest $14.95 fee. Well after searching around and then calling the number listed in the article...... surprise, there is no such software available to the public (according to the "technology" rep from Abbott). There is a web interface only called "CoPilot", but you cannot download or import from your pump, only the FreeStyle meters.

The good news: The rep did tell me that they are in the "final" stages of testing a new software to be released in "about a month" or so and it should have the capability to read from the Deltec Pump or import from CozManager.

At this point, you should have a mental picture of me holding my breath and smiling.... :D

Hey Kob'
I've known about Co-pilot for about 3 years now. It's always been a web based service.

I used to use the Freestyle Tracker, the meter that actually hooked into the old Handspring Visor PDAs. I love the interface and the software was probably some of the best going. Great graphs, able to cusomize it jsut about anyway you want. Of course they discontinued the Tracker when handspring discontinued the Visor and I also changed inurance carrries and now I am stuck with a Onetouch Ultrasmart. I hate the software. It's very limiting and doesn't allow me to view my sugars in the manner in which my doctor and I want.

I don't know if you've gotten this yet, but there is software available at the therasense website that I believe is the same software that came with my Tracker.

go here and let me know if this is the software you need. You still need to get the data cable, I suggest contacting your diabetes educator or endo and asking who the local Therasence Rep is, I contacted them and got the cable for free, instead of paying for it.

yeah, I asked the good people at Deltec about the Cozmanager update again and they said again that it would be soon, same as I was told in January.

Meech, the programs for Therasense meters don't work with the Cozmore because the info is stored in the pump, not the meter, so it is a Deltec issue. :(

Thanks for the tip Arch. Yeah, I have that and several other software titles. I agree the software for the Freestyle and the web CoPilot have some great graphs and charts, but you cannot get your readings from your CozManager into them.

I guess I will continue to hold my breath until either Deltec or Abbott comes through. I won't quit looking however!
