Hello!
I will in the next two weeks (after have waited in quene) be taken in to the hospital for getting an insulin pump, the three choices are
MiniMed 508
Disetronc D-Tron Plus
Disetronc H-Tron Plus
Since the D-tron is the best Disetronic pump, the H-tron isnt really a choice. Therefore I am asking which pump you think I should choose. I like electronic-things so I think I should be able to use quite advanced functions etc.
Since pumps here in Sweden are provided by the government price doesnt matter, the hospital just says I sould choose the pump "I think would make me happy".
Thanks,
Bjorne
I don't know to much Disetronc pumps.
I have the 508, but mini med has a new pump. Paradigm Insulin Pump.
Paradigm looks pretty good. From what I read it sounds good too. Gina has the Paradigm. She is one of the moderators here. So if you have any questions about paradigm, I'm sure she will be glad to answer them. I know a little about it, cause I was hoping to get it. I have 1 year and 3 months to go.
I had went to the ADA expo. Paradigm was there. They said, prefilled reservoir will be coming out and that the Paradigm is going to work with bd glucose monitor soon to come.
thats awesome tony i didnt know that

sorry for the late reply, my PC havnt been working for a while :(
I was at the hospital the other day and looked at the MiniMed pumps with a lady from MiniMed :D
She showed me the Pardigm and I selected it, it will be arriving this week with the mail.
I wont get it plugged-in until next wednesday though, but the hospital told me to play with it so I "got the feeling" when I get it plugged in :)

I just found out that there have been problems with the Pardigm forgeting the basal rates, is this something anyone here have encountered?

Please provide the link to where you read that. I am in the process of starting on the Paradigm and would like to address this question to my Minimed rep. That would really suck big time.
I am on the paradigm pump and i never have problems with it forgetting my basal or anything....Maybe from where you heard this the person was having a problem with their pump and needed it to be replaced or something....

I see if I can find the story again.

Yupper, I will be using a Paradigm. With Quicksets infusions sets 6MM. Been thru the work book three times! I think my wife is more anxious than me. NOT!

:) I also use Quick-set, the 9MM version, they say the 6mm is too small and jumps out of place if you move too much...
It works fine for me, even though Im really tired after spending the night at the hospital...
Good luck with your pump Vic L :)

Oh yeah. I'm offically a PUMP user. I went through the entire class with the CDE Minimed rep and was a little nervous. But it feels great to actually start this type of therapy. The only obstacle I see affecting me immediately is wearing the pump.
Got plugged in at 2pm this afternoon and I checked my blood four times already and all have been between 100-150. It was so easy going to a restaurant and not worrying about injections. Feel like I just jumped out of a plane. Free. You know I have a big smile on my face.
Congrats Vic,
Welcome to the wonderful world of pumping....YOU ARE GOING TO LOVEEEEE THE PUMP.....I know that free feeling also about the first time in a restaurant...thank god for technology

Yeh, I agree with Vic L, pump is great!
Even though when I woke up this morning I had 15 mmol/l and between + and ++ ketons :( (Using Keto Diabur Test 5000, I got a PresicionXtra with keton support the day after yesterday too but the pharmacy was sold out on supplies for it so I have to stick with KDT5000 a while :()
