Out of curiosity...
I seem to have a UTI and or Kidney infection. Although I do not present symptoms, my last urine test presented some blood. My doc gave me Cipro XR 500 mg for 3 days. I am still awaiting for my New Endo's appt. coming up on the 13th of this month. Wouldn't this UTI or anytype of infection, for that matter, cause my BS to rise?

Yes infections make my BS shoot up very high. For me they are in the 350 to 400 range. However my Endo told me that if I feel or think I may have a UTI or Kidney infection that I should start drinking a **** load of water. I guess the water starts flushing your system out and starts getting you better.
Do you drink alot of soda ? I am also told that soda causes alot of the problem, another reason I need to stop drinking it.

Not necessarily. We're all a little different. The last time I had a bladder infection I don't recall any affect on my b/s. Just be glad you don't have symptoms - it's the WORST! :(
I hope the infection clears up and that you like your new endo!

Thanks everyone. Yes, I have had a real bad UTI before, 10 yrs ago, and the pain is EXCRUCIATING.....
My BS have been real low and hopefully I will be getting my kidney Ultrasound done tomorrow. I actually drink very little, Cfree soda, not even a can a day.

See and you were worried for nothing. If it helps you can go to the drugstore and purchase your own Ketostiks. These can tell you if there is still blood present and will even tell you if you still have bacteria.
Sometimes I don't even know I have an infection. I know the one time we were doing urinalysis during class and I had a lot of blood detected but it didn't look like there was blood in my urine. My nitrate (which tells if there is bacteria) came back + after 2 minutes.
Please keep us informed of the results tomorrow.

Cipro is my friend...I get UTI's quite often....at least my endo has given me a constant supply of Cipro and I don't even bother going in to be tested. My BS usually run normal it is the constant urge to urinate that is my biggest clue.

Thanks for all the helpful information. I have my labs with me and I looked up NITRITE, it reads: Negative.

Can I ask you what your Leukocytes read? Neg, Trace, Small, Moderate, Large?

Could it be under another lab name?

If it is a Urinalysis lab form it could read WBC's or White Blood Cells

Hmm something is not right. You can't read + then Neg in one test. So I am banking on the 3+ to be a large amount which is the highest reading on a Multistik (I am clarifying it as I had said Ketostik in the previous post). 3+ means there is an infection and that is most likely why the blood is there.
Soon as you get back from the ultrasound let us know how things went. I don't know if you will get the results today unless it is actually your DR doing it.
Good Luck I wish you the best.
