Hey Guys,

I have been type 2 for about 2 years controled with glyburide diet and exorsise, my bs usually sits somewhere between 6.5 and 7.5. I was on the glyburide untill about 6 months ago when my doctor suggested i go off it and just control with diet and exorsise, well a few days ago i started to feel quite crappy like my bs was high, my tests were a little high nothing i was to worried about tho.

So yesterday i tested when i woke up and i was at 17.9 so i popped into the hospital to get checked out and possibly get a shot of insulin if need be, but they said just to watch it and sent me on my way, last night i check it and it was 28.6, i have never had a test even close to that, i thought my tester was broken tested again and it was 26, this morning 20

i guess my question is what the **** is going on? lol should i go back on the glyburide? im about to go for a walk and play with my son in the park and see what its like when i get back, thanks fr listening, btw my names Erik. Hi :whistling

Hi Erik and welcome to the forums family. Even though I am type 1, it sounds to me like you need to call your doctor or maybe find a new one. Just a suggestion. :D

thanks, i have already dumped my family doctor because he really didnt know what he was doing (also was giving my sister zoloft when she didnt need it) so i am in the process of getting a new one, luckly there is a clinic right by my house that has amazing doctors that i can see untill i get a new family doctor, on top of that my next door neighbour is a doctor who specializes in diabeties.

i just spoke with her and she believes that i have some kind of infection (she suspect baldder) since i am cut free, oh the fun never ends

I would continue to check your sugars after this infection. I am T2 and if you ar e running at 6.5 and 7.5 you're still running outside of your target of 3.8-5.8. I have learned that here in canada they want out ranges in a tighter group, due to long term effects of having slightly elevated sugars. It's your life and I wouldn't mess with it especially is you have kids. Ya want to see them grow up. It definately sounds like you need to find a new doctor though...if you don't take charge they won't...they're too busy. Have a great time with the kids and hopefully this infection will go away quickly. :hypocrite

I can't believe it! That's just irresponisable on your doc's part. I take metformin and inject lantus..it's a 24 hour insulin and it has given me great control and relatively quickly. Hope that's of some help. good luck! :)

when i was at the hospital yesterday getting checked out they suggested metformin, so i made an appointment with a new doctor to see about going on it, anyways just got back from like a two hour walk and feel pretty good so hopefully it stays that way, the last thing i need is stress worrying about it which just makes it worse
