NO retinal bleeding! YAY! Chris was seriously (my husband) almost legally blind yesterday and because he already had one really bad eye he got nervous (he poked himself in the eye with a lead pencil when he was 12 and had his lens removed). So he is already blind in his left eye. I tried to tell him that the highs and lows are making him blurry but I think since he is already part blind, it was too much for him to deal with. But I'll tell you that the eye doctor gave us 10 times the information that the GP did! It was the best $85 we have spent so far! The guy was so great. So if you are in the LA area and you need an opthamologist, let me know... I would be happy to share his info. He was awesome. We left there feeling like there was hope. He also gave my husband a wake up call and told him if he doesnt get the sugar under control than he WILL have retinal bleeding. Since he watches TV for a living that scared the **** out of him. SO after that he went out and bought a journal and started writing it all down. As some of you know, he was letting me tell him everything and I was doing the recording for him. When the Dr. asked what meds he was taking and he didn't know... that was the last straw... he had to come and get me so I could tell the dr. what he was taking.
I'm sure he will be on here soon enough. I have been bragging about you people all week :D

Well, that is great news. It is also great that this sort of scared him straight, in a way. I am glad he is getting involved in his own care. In the long run that will be good for both of you. I hope we see him on here soon.

I'm really glad the meeting was such a good experience and it sounds like it's really going to make a difference to your husband! That's really great!

Excellent, being "Scared Straight" is often a good thing and can lead to

"Gooder" things.
