With the permission of this forum, Carlye and I would like to sponsor a contest.

What kind of contest you ask?

Well, as most of you know, Carlye will be getting her new pump soon, the rep had asked Carlye what she would like to name her pump. She looked at him kind of funny and he said "some people name their pump cute names like Einstein" or I'd imagine in Ducks case the ducking. :D

Well, my usually witty and sarcastic daughter was, for once, speechless. So, this is where you come in....

This is a contest to see who can come up with the best name for Carlyes new Cosmo pump.... The one she likes the best wins a awesome diabetics basket of goodies....

We will run the contest from posting until Midnight (Michigan time) on the 24 of June with the winner being posted by the 27th of June.

Some things that might help you choose a name:

Carlye is 11 and 3/4
Carlye is not a very girly girl (doesn't care about clothes, or boys yet)
Carlye's favorite TV shows are Friends, American Idol and House
Carlye is a member of the National Junior Honor Society
Carlye Loves to Bowl
Carlye Went to London and Amsterdam as a member of People to People and Team USA to participate in the World friendship games
Carlye is a Crane Game Addict
Carlye is very witty
Carlye is very Sarcastic
Carlye wins her battles with logic
Carlye adores her Grandpa Norman whom she feels she inherited her great ability to win at the crane game, and her bent pinky finger. :thumbsup:

If you need more info on Carlye, feel free to ask questions, I'll have her answer them.

Enter as many times as you like but each on separate posts so we can keep track of them.

Well, I love the winged horse. I think it's beautiful. Just an idea, I meant no harm.

I have never actually thought of naming my pump? For those of us that are a little older or had older brothers and sisters; how about little Nash Rambler or just Nash, cuz every time anyone sees me using it it going of like the old song, "beep beep" (corny I know, don't hate me for it)

I didn't think you meant harm, I was curious where you came up with the name, thats all...

I would call it Gizmo :thumbsup: . Gizmo was the cutest gremlin from the film Gremlins. And a a pump is a gismo really... not sure if you use that word in america but I'd call a pump a gismo... if you get what I mean :p I wanted to get a Rabbit and call it Gizmo when iwas younger but I wasn't allowed one.. :(

How about "Tina", as in "Eat Tina! Ya fat lard!" (Who in the world talks to a llama like that? LOL)

BTW, I have no name for mine........that I can use in polite company LOL
August is my 9th year with it, and it not only saved my life, but added years to it also.

I think Locutus comes from STAR TREK the Next Generation.

Very appropriate given that we are living through the use of a machine, and most of us could say we are borg, ourselves. lol

Personally, I'd rather call mine "7 of 9". Jeri Ryan is absolutely delicious!! ;)

Since she is witty and sarcastic, she should watch Blackadder, and since her pump will be doing her bidding, the reason why it should be called 'Baldrick' should be obvious.

I like this one (mom speaking) it is cute, of course the minute I said cute it was out....

UPDATE: So far Tina is winning Nomis is in 2nd and Simon is in 3rd but not just for simon on American Idol, but because simon says - - Pump says... Carlye said she has to do what the pump say...not sure I follow but hey, its her pump.

Having said that, How about "Spencer". Short for dispencer, which is short for insulin dispencer.

aw, i can't believe it. i was actually going to submit "pumpy" because that's the name of my pump! well his first name anyways. his full name is "pumpy mcpumperson". hope she enjoys the name as much as i do. since she has the cozmo she'll be able to add the name using the computer software so the name will show up on the screen! unfortunately pumpy mcpumperson was too long so the screen shows "pumpy mcp". excellent choice! i feel a special bond with carlye. not just because of the name she chose but because i'm also super sarcastic and loooove napoleon dynamite (as you should be able to tell by my signature ... flippin' sweet). best movie ever!
