so i was wrestling with my the other day and fell weird and re-injured an old football injury in my back, so i have been layed out for the past couple days not being able to exorcise like i would want to and i have noticed my BS going up a bit might that be from the injury maybe or from not being able to exocise much? also it is freakin hot i wonder if that would affect it at all....its a shame really i cant do much but watch movies and play videogames...heheheh :hypocrite
oh and here is the little guy that took me out, future football star for sure...

**** those little ones. Do they not understand that daddy's are fragile?
Hey, see a chiropractor...and see one of those quack ones that believe your spine is the foundation to good life. My wife started seeing one when she was pregnant, and then recommended I see them too. I have had this knot in my upper back since I was 15 and got hurt riding a roller coaster ( :whistling )/ Anyway, I don't complain anymore after seeing this guy for a year (he actually had me feeling better at about three months) and my wife is thankful since I don't complain when it rains...or in the morning...or at night...or ever now, that my back hurts. I consider it a miracle.

Yep, it's those little, quick ones you have to watch.
I was playing with Ian, our 18 month-old, and tossed him up in the air after he came down his slide late last month. As I caught him, I felt a 'pop' in my lower back. Not good. Like Duck, though, I have a good chiropractor. My appointment was about a week away, so I took some otc painkillers and toughed it out until then. He got me squared away.
About the blood sugar, it could be the pain and discomfort, as well as, the lack of exercise. While my back was irritated my numbers ran a little higher than usual. Other times I have had some back pain I ran a little high.
It is somewhat amazing how many of our body systems affect our blood sugar. If I could remember it, I think this would be the time to reprint the lyrics to the old 'kneebone' song.
Good luck with the back,
Travis

thanks for the replies, i have a chiropractor appointment, he is on his vacation for a few more days tho and im really picky when it comes tho doctors so when i get one i like i try and stay with him/her, thankfully tho im a little more mobile today and it is feeling much better, still a little stiff so im still going to the appointment.
im not sure if other get this but its weird that my blood sugar reacts differently depending on the temp, like the days during the summer when its really hot and muggey and im outside a lot or we dont have the AC on i find my readings slightly higher then if it was a nice cool days.

Are you sweating alot and more thirsty? Dehydration can raise Blood Sugar Levels...

no and no, i spoke with a doctor today, said it was most likely due to being stressed from being uncomfortable and because i wasnt really able to do any kind of exorcise, it feels a lot better now tho, still a little stiff but manageable and my sugars are fine again back to 5.5 to 6.0 range

... I was 50 days without being able to sit, walk nor even stand up due to a prolapsed disc. I was so much in pain, I couldn't even eat! Ate more pills than anything else anyway. BG was between 12 and 15 mmol/L, and never went lower. On top of everything, I felt horrible and sluggish. Sometimes I think it's not just the lack of physical activity, an injury can stress your system. A bit like the flu would, if you like. That's why we diabetics must be careful, and try to avoid being sick or suffer an injury. BG fluctuates enough on its own, without any reasons, so you can imagine what an injury can cause...! So much that now, especially in my job, I am ever so careful. I take no risks.
By the way, physio and Pilates rid me of that injury
I hope you recover quickly!
