What is the deal with the sun and metformin? Everywhere I look it just says cover up or wear sunscreen. Two weeks ago I got a mild sunburn...forgot about the met. Well here I am now just getting water blisters. Is this a result of the metformin? It's deffinately out of the ordinary for me. Does anyone know? I'm confused about what precautions I need to take. Tennis season is getting under way and I don't want to miss a thing! :)

I must be lucky. I find that I don't have to take any precautions that I wouldn't normally have done before I was on Metformin. The other day I did some physical work out in the sun with no ill effect - I did use screen after about an hour, but then that was normal for me before. The sun down here in Devon, England is every bit as strong as in the Canadian Maritimes in mid-summer.

I know this doesn't help you, but I suppose it highlights yet again that we are all different with different reactions to our medication.

I hope you get over your blisters :) - I know how painful they can be :(
