ok, so I go to my endo today, and ask about apidra... and here is what I was told, figured if anyone out there wants to try it, or better yet those without insurance, here's a deal..
the endo told me, that aventis will not have apidra out on the market till at least feb. but, the endos can put people on it now, sort of a medical trial.. if the endo put you on it, aventis will supply you with 13 months of apidra for free... they will give your endo insulin for the next 12 months, and the 13th they will give you a coupon for a free months supply at the drug store when it hits the markets. my supply is ordered and I will be picking it up next friday, I will be getting 10 vials, and will be getting another 10 vials after that runs out. I have talked to people out there who have either crappy insurance, or no insurance, and find it hard to keep up, so here is a chance to try something new, and also it may help with keeping costs down a little bit.. (and no I am not an employee of aventis, just in case)...
My endo has 3 people on it now, and from what she has seen, it is stronger and faster then either humilog or novolog and has helped people get better control, esp if you have some form of insulin resistance..
