You might say there have been a few complications this month. On the 16th I thought I had gas but ended up at a major hospital 150 miles away having a heart cath. And then 4 days later I had a double by pass. Now everything is changing again. I went from Metformin to now I use insulin. What a change. I'm still reeling at all that has happened. I was doing a low carb diet and now I have to eat a certain amount of carbs. My poor hubby is helping me figure it out. This is helping him to take his diabetes much more seriously. I'm taking 12 units of humalog morning and lunch. 10 units for supper and 24 units of lantus at bedtime. Then in Aug I go back to see the doctor in Wichita to see if everything is working ok. I do go to my local doctor Tues. and start cardio rehab wed. What an exciting summer I'm having.

Oh My, Lynpenny....
So sorry to hear about the double bypass. That is big. I am glad you came through it okay. It will be an adjustment for sure. How are you feeling now? Good luck with the rehabilitation. I truly hope you continue to gain strength. Keep us posted.

I'm finding that the bg numbers are easier to get within range with the insulin. I'm still working on knowing what I can and can't eat. Right now there is alot of take out since hubby doesn't cook. He has been very helpful when we plan what we are going to eat. I've dropped about 10 pounds since the surgery. It is really scarey to be this weak and tired. I start cardio rehab on Wed. so maybe it will be better soon. I can't wait to be healed and able to move around more.

OMG Lynpenny. How Awful!!! No time of the year is good for that
to happen. :( I'm glad that you made it through and that they put
you on Insulin. You'll have better control that way especially for the
healing process. I do hope your rehab goes well and that your appt. in Aug.
is Good News. Most of my life I've just eaten normal foods(just smaller amounts, except for veggies) of course they will probably not want you eating certain foods until you're back to normal. I hope you are feeling
Great soon. Take Care. :) :flowers:
