I frequently see sugar alcohols listed in the nutrition labels on low carb foods. They're always subtracted out for the "net carbs". What are they, and do they really not effect BG levels?

They do effect you bs it's just like other replacements it lowers the carb amount. They also has a wicked kick back in the form of gas, diareha, or upset stomach. Don't eat too much or you may just regret it. I can't tolerate it...it makes me very sick to my tummy. Anything ending in "ol" ei: maltitol is a sugar alcohol. Have fun!
Bad things, man....BAD things...

My dietician told me to forget about net carbs and focus on the total carbohydrate count (while subtracting the fiber). Quite often, the sugarfree stuff has more cho's than the real stuff.

easy enough..basically anything that is mixed with alcohol is sugary. like..rum and coke..or having shots of vodka followed by a "chaser"(usually juice or pop or something). Ciders are sugary, "***** drinks" are sugary...
