KETONES!!!! need as much advice as possible!

:frown: Hi guys, I really need you guys advice...Yesterday my sugars jumped up incredibly to 525 and ketones started overtaking my body. I did soooooo much insulin, drank water and monitered my sugar but the next morning I woke up sick and with over 40 ketones..I drank water, tried to take a bath to lower the sugar but seemed like nothing was helping..Please I need any advice and help that anyone can give..This stuff is hard....Thank you...

Wow man !!!!! That's pretty serious. Have you been in close contact with your dr./endo? What advice are they giving you? Do you know what may have happened to cause the high bg's and ketones? Sorry for the questions but it may help us to have a little background here.

Wow! :eek: Sorry to hear about your high numbers and ketones... Most of us Type 1s have been there in the past and can understand how unpleasant and frightening seeing those high numbers can be :thumpdown . How are you feeling? Whatever the case, I think you should give your doctor a call ASAP. Even if it's evening there, most likely you can have the dr. paged and he or she will call you back. :call: Or if you can't get a hold of your doc., it may be wise to take a trip to the ER, especially if your numbers continue to rise. You might have DKA and may need intravenous fluids and insulin :nurse: to get rehydrated and bring down those numbers.

Please keep us posted with how you are doing and if you have any other questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask. :stupido2:

HEY GUYS!!!! Everything is under control..Thank you so much for all of your thoughtfulness and advice....It was pretty scary but my wife took good care of me :love: Anways I cared my diabetic specialist today and I have got an appointmet august 5th to see all the specialist there and get everything under control.....Again thank you all for being so kind...

Phew! :embarasse I'm so glad you are ok! It definitely can be scary seeing those hi numbers and ketones. :ahhhhh:
