I am just kidding but Im in SHOCK!!!!
My nurse just called me to give me my A1C------- 5.9
and to inform me the doc wants to put me on medication to protect my kidneys.I wasn't even on the pump to get to the 5.9.
I was so shocked at my result that I can't remember the name of it, lol. :star:

I've been taking Monopril for a while. It isn't too expensive. I was paying around $40.00 for a 2 month supply (I buy the 40 mg tablet and cut it in two so I get twice as much. The 10, 20, and 40 mg tablet all cost the same). Now, I'm able to get a generic for about $30.00, which isn't too bad.

I ate a cinnabon once about fifteen years ago. Back then, I was on NPH and R. It took me about three days to recover from that. I bet one cinnabon would add five points to your A1C. But, what the heck? Enjoy!

The nerve of some people to wave a big, gooey, delicious cinnabon in front of my face when I live about 200 miles from the closest Cinnabon. Shame on you!! Your lucky you are still here because after seeing your avatar I was tempted to EAT YOU!!!

I actually had a cinnabon about a year ago and I did fairly well with it. It's the Krispy Kreams (sp) that I get violentally ill afterwards. I don't know if something in the ingrediants makes me sick or if it really is packed with sugar.

Congrats on the A1c. :congrats:

But seriously, that's so AWESOME :congrats: . Congratulations  ...I think you are certainly entitled to a cinnamon roll or two (yum! :eating: ).

Keep up the great work! :top:

Mmmmmmm...Cinnabon.

Cinnabon actually is "duck folklore" around here--About a year after I was diagnosed, and WAAAAAAY before I knew how to carb-count or anything like that, my friends and I were at the mall, and one of them said "hey, let's go to Cinnabon..."

Long story short, duck ate one all by himself. I went home, took my normal evening shot and fell asleep about 6PM. And woke back up at 6AM for school. I can only imagine now how high my sugars were during that semi-comatose period!

Anyway, that is a fabulous A1c! Great work, Mars (why do they call you Mars?).

I think I'd go Nuts if there were no Cinnabons around! :1eye: And to think, until last December, I'd never had one before....I finally tried one (cause my blood was low and it smelled good), :D and I too, did pretty well (went from about 37 to 78, then up to 127  ). Like Sandi, my blood goes crazy if I eat doughnuts (& bread) though.

Mmmmm, Cinnabon and Krispy Kreme... it's like CRACK for diabetics. Not good for you, but you just gotta have it!

Good job on the A1C, that's fantastic.

Are you guys kidding!!! I grew up in Charleston, SC and have lived in Savannah, GA for 15 years. I have been in the homeland of Kripsy Kreme all my life. And on top of that, Cinnabon came to both places about 18 years ago. I have to stay way clear of both. You see, I'm not addicted; I can stop anytime I want to. :canabis: Problem is, that I just don't want to stop eating all that oowey goowey yummy stuff! Duck, when my wife and I were dating we would go to Cinnabon and eat at least 3 of the big ones between the 2 of us. My pump is cringing, just thinking about it.

Cinnabon

Congrats!!!! Way to go!!! You deserve a Cinnabon.... okay a very little Cinnabon. Do what I do... talk someone else in the family into getting one so you can have two bites (only). Actually, when I used to make the Pillsbury cinnamon rolls at home for the family I would leave the frosting off of one... and it did not run my sugars up too much - not the same I know - but I didn't feel left out and the cinnamon tastes good (which they've now proven lowers sugars for Type IIs when you take in 1/2t./day... haven't tried it).
