Is your pump insured? I added my pump to the schedule of valuable items on my homeowners insurance several years ago, then updated it last year with my new cozmo. I really did not think about it gain until my pump went through the washing machine and I was waiting and hoping it would dry out. (don't ask, I was having a blonde moment)

My homeowners policy will pay all but the 1000 deductable to replace my pump if it is dead.

Will let you know if it lives or not later.

Recently, I posted an article (http://www.diabetesforums.com/showthread.php?t=3487) about how a man's pump came off when he got caught up in a kayaking mishap. His pump lived, but one thing (if memory serves) he did, was took the battery out and left the compartment to dry out. Hope this helps, and hope your pump lives!

OK, as some might expect... I have a stupid question...

While your pump is still in it's initial 4-year warranty period, wouldn't the pump manufacturer replace it in case of damage (washing it included)?

Putting the pump on your homeowners insurance is a good idea I had not considered, but is it really necessary while it is still in warranty?

Hmmmmm....
