I have read that Metformin can also reduce bad cholesterol levels. Has anyone experienced this?

Didn't work for me - I also have to take a statin, which works extremely well and my cholesterol having been in the danger zone is now normal.

Never heard of this before. Or perhaps haven't been on Metformin for long enough?

Hmmm..good question. My cholesterol was a little high (215) when I was diagnosed last month and I'm on Metformin and Lipitor (10mg). It will be interesting to see how it affects cholesterol levels. I haven't heard that Metformin reduces cholesterol, but it would be good to know. :dontknow: :elefant: :hmmmm2: :wavey:
