Just out of interest...

Get your glucometer out. Press whatever combination of buttons you need to press and post what your average reading is.

Mine is a bit high at the moment so I'm not posting until others have :o

I don't know how to use that function (I use an Ascensia Breeze), but I'd guess I'm around 135.

Mine is 8.2 at the moment which is seriously **** and annoying.
Over the last month or so my bg has just gone up for no reason,
so I've had to make some adustments and it's slowly getting back to normal. Pain in the rear end though! :thumpdown 8.2 is my 14 day average :hmpf: But it was alot worse last week.

Mine is 6.4 or 115. It's ok but would like it to be lower.

Answer: 144 which is better than 158 last quarter - about 7.5% HBA1c when I was in school, under a great deal of stress and not eating right or working out. I am two months into my next HbA1c and hope to get it down another 8 - 10 points.

I actually chart mine in MSExcel (anal) - so I know which parts of the day I have to work on - Dr. loves it (was late night, now is late morning).

I THINK you multiply the reading by 18 but I could be wrong (and usually am) so I'm guessing 147.6?

Cielo
07-20-2005, 07:09 AM
I knew it had something to do with the number 18...I think you're right. But a reading of 147 isn't bad....it's much better than a lot of other peoples....that's why I thought I was mistaken....

Hmmmm...According to the Cozmore, 151 14-day average with 6.9 tests a day. Can that be right? My most recent A1c (last week) was 6.4...But I guess I don't really test when I am low, maybe I need to in order to better my average (just kidding).

My average just before lunch was 98, with a 7-day average of 108. I haven't been a dxd diabetic for long enough to have had a second A1c; obviously my first one was off the charts!

Cookie don't get discouraged! You will get it down! Sometimes we defeat ourselves with negative thinking. Why try hard (and it is hard) if it's not going to pay off. You just have to keep trying until it pays off and it will. Do you have good support? I thaught I did and and I do but I went to a family members house and they kinda ridiculed me for not eating white rice, gravy with white flour, potatoes etc. They said they knew diabetics who ate all that and were just fine, therefore, what was my problem? It's the first time and I must admit it stung. If you have good friend who will encourage you get them on board if not, find some. Sorry for the rant..I just wish all diabetics felt empowered to control this disease.

My friends and family are fabulous! My mother-in-law in particular is so lovely about it all, VERY thoughtful when we go round for dinner etc, always makes 'alternative' options for me if I want them - she's a star!

I know I'll get on track again, it's my mission!

14 day avg.= 144 48 tests

30 day avg.= 130 97 tests
I know what caused the problem. Believe me when I say this: Italian food screws with my bg's.

I have just been through a rough patch with blood sugar readings, mainly because I am in the startup phase with a new business. The Accu-Chek Advantage metre reading averages are :

7 day : 7.3 (131)
14day : 8.1 (146)
30 day : 7.5 (135)

I am trying to get the 30 day average down to 7.0 (126). Which corresponds to an HBA1c of 5.7%.

Cheers,

Mark

Mark, you don't happen to have a list or table of how your averages correspond to your HBA1Cs do you? I'd be really interested to see that!

I think I figured out what my issue(s) is...I take a lot of my readings 1-hour post meal, so I can correct early if I miscalculated my bolus. Doesn't bode well for the average, but should help the monthly A1c...We'll see in about two weeks. :vollkomme

90 day average =5.9. Which is 106 in Dollars and Cents

7 day is 6.4 which is 115. Had a bug a few days back and hit my first set of double figures in quite some time. Oh, and after bragging how curry is possible in copious amounts with Apidra, I calculated the bolus wrong on Friday night and hit a 13 (234). Corrected it pretty quickly though...

I have only been doing BGL readings for 30 days now!

My 30 day average is 184 (10.2).

My 14 day average is 161 (8.9).

My 7 day average is 139 (7.7).

I had a new "record" low last night at bedtime of 86.4 (4.8) and my spikes have been much lower in the last week since i have concentrated on reducing carbs!

looks like i could be going in the right direction?

My 30 day average is 125, my 14 day average is 133, and my 7 day average is 140.

My 7 day average fluctuates from 105-145, while my 30 day average stays between 115 and 135. I don't think that the average matters much because I retest extreme numbers. If the meter's average counted as one tests done within five minutes of each other, my meter average would be lower.
