I used to get some nice log books from the Diabetes Hospital in Birmingham but I haven't been able to find any since about 1990. Wish I could offer an answer, but I can't.

Let me know how you'd like the logbook to look, I (or someone here) can make a logbook in Excel and make it available for download. Once you have it, you can edit it to suit your needs if needed.

Talk to your CDE or Endo, they should have boxes of those things to give out for free. All the glucometer companies make a log book that they hand out like candy to the doctor's offices. It's good advertizing.

Try this site, at the bottom of the page there is an email address where you can order logbooks.

http://www.lifescan.com/products/booklets/logbook/

Hope this helps.

I don't recall Mr Sugar, right off hand.

I know LifeScan has a log book but if it's the one I'm thinking of, it's so TINY. I like big log books, like the yellow book that used to be available at the hospital I was treated at. I've been using their log books since 1976 and it has a lot of room to keep track of a lot of information. Unfortunately, I can't find them any longer and I'm about to run out.

I don't recall Mr Sugar, right off hand.Had like 7 notices and 1 PM about him the first of June. You did not miss anything.

The Lifescan log books are free if you use one of their meters and registered it with them. It's small and fits in the meter case, but unless you write small your limited to what you can put in it. A CDE or ENDO will probably prefer you use theirs and be happy to give them to you free.

Here is the address to make log books from the insulin-pumpers website. There are a few there , maybe one of them will have what you need.

Yeah, some dude was trying to hijack this thread and said I was making sexual advances at tony_acunar. The mods banned him for his transgressions.

Hi Tony, I may be too late in replying since it seems you've already ordered your logbooks from LifeScan. However, in the event you need more, or somebody else finds it useful, I absolutely LOVE the graphical log books made by Diabetes Mall. Take a look here: http://diabetesnet.com/mocb1.php?

They are a little pricey, but if you're a visual person like I am, I've gotta tell you the $1.8/month is a small price to pay for good control.

If anyone is interested I have an Excel Spreadsheet that I have been tinkering with for the past couple years. I finally took the time this week to get it to where I want it and I would be happy to email it to anyone who would like to try it. It is tailored for Type 1 diabetics on MDI that would like to enter and track just about everything that has to do with diabetes management. It is a pretty extensive spreadsheet. I made it in both mmol and mg/dL formats. Just let me know which version you would like.

Not sure what kind of meter you are using. I have a LifeScan, and in addition to logging your glucose readings and insulin injections, they also offer a free software download. All you do is connect your blood meter to your computer (through the proper cable which they provided for me) and "import" the data from your machine into the PC software. It's actually kinda neat.

Provided for you?? They informed me that I would need to purchase one or input my results manually. They also said that if I did it manually and then tried to download my meter (after purchasing a $30 cable....) that I would, in a sense, screw things up. Seems to me they think I'm an idiot !!
