Insulin and headaches

Hi, what I mean is not exactlay a headache but a kind of dizziness, a feeling that your head will explode, difficulty with concentration and very bad memory.
I know, right now you think this guy got in hypo, but I wasn't. I am talking about something completely different.
Imagine for example that you take your insulin (10 i.u. Novorapid) now with blood sugar of 180.0, an hour passes, your blood sugar is now 175.0 or 190.0 or 200.0 for example. Then you get that horrible feeling (I can't even explain it to doctors). Another hour passes feeling this way and your blood sugar for example is now 150.0. It's not a hypo, is it?!

A have more than 13 years practice with diabetes and these happens for years now, especially the last 5. On the other hand I continue to alienate from society, I have difficulty remembering or recalling things.

And finally I will give you a particular example:
Yesterday I woke up at 8:00 AM with blood sugar 69.0 . I took 4 i.u. Novorapid. At 9:10 I drank a cappuccino. Because I had this feeling I took 5 grams sugar. At 12:00 my blood sugar was 98.0. During this 3 hours I never got off this feeling.

Somebody with similar sensations around here ?

Can it be an allergy to the insulin(s) you're on? *just a thought*

The blood sugar levels you described there are too high, I feel like that if my blood sugar is anything above 144. Any higher than that and I get a head ache and feel kind of blocked up in my head and my muscles.... thats the best way I can describe it which I assume is like when you said you feel you could explode. The higher it gets the worse it gets, for me anyway.

I sometimes feel like that for no apparent reason. No idea why.

If I've had too tight control for several months, I lose awareness of where my B/G is coupled that kind of disorientation you're describing.

I ease up control a bit, but then I almost never go over 130/7.2 for my 2 hour postprandial readings---mostly I hold between 82/4.5 and130/7.2


However, I've noticed that when my Lantus is going bad or the Novolog/Novorapid is going bad then I run higher than normal B/G and again have that discomfort you're refering to.

I know I feel bad when my blood sugar is high, and around 180 I start getting a "mild" headache. I would encourage you to check to see if you may have something more serious, though.
