View Full Version : Blood in the Infusion Set

Hello!

My Paradigm pump is connected to a Minimed QuickSet, which is connected through a PolySkin II plastic tape over my skin. However sometimes (like now) he infusionset books a bit red, this is because you can see blood through the transparent plastic.

Is this anything to bother about? Should you change sets or ignore it?

Are you sure it's blood and not just skin that is red? Sometimes it looks like blood to me but 9 times out of 10 it usually is my skin that is extra red.

yes, Im sure it's blood, because the top if it is red too

If your sugars are fine and if it isn't painful I would leave it in till the next set change. The most important part is to make sure you suagrs are ok. If they are high just the slightest I would change. :)

Agree with Sandy--as long as you also monitor the site and make sure it is not becoming infected or anything untoward.
