Hello!

I've had my pump a few weeks now and it appears I'm allergic to MiniMed's QuickSet for Pardigm... However, I got some kind of plastic adhesive tape from the hospital called "Tegaderm" to put on the skin before I apply the QuickSet. I hope this works but if it doesnt I'm going to have to change infusionsets, but to what?
Which is the most skin-friendly infusionset?

Thanks,
Bjorne

How about the soft-sets. They have different tape than the quick sets.

You could ask for some samples. Tell them the problem you are having.

What are you getting a rash or something?

Are you changing it every three days? Two? I get some redness but it goes away after a few hours. The problem I am having is getting all the sticky glue stuff off of my skin. Any suggestions Tony?

On another note: Do you know of a website that will show you a graphic of all the places an infusion set can go? I have to see it to really understand where.

I haven't had a problem. It has only happen to me maybe two or three times. I take the quick-set off in the shower or try to.
I notice when I don't do that. That is when I'm left with the sticky glue and it hurts when I pull it off.

Make sure you get the quick-set real wet. Then pull it off. You shouldn't have the sticky glue left on your skin.

Bjorne, Maybe you might want to try that. When you pull the quick-set off when it is wet, it doesn't hurt. It might keep you from getting a rash.

The rash could also be from insulin left on the end of the set. So having the set wet will help with that too.

it doesnt hurt when i remove it and my last injection site is still red (24h has passed) and I always use Remove tabs (tab covered in some liquid that removes the glue from the infusionsets) after I've removed infusion sets.

This Tegaderm thing fall off. So I had to apply a new set on a better location :(.

Does the soft-sets have better glue or just different?

...mabye I should just return the pump and go back to my NovoPens...

Don't give up! Maybe you need to see your pump rep. for some help.

Did you try what I told you?

The soft-set use a different type of tape. It is not as strong as the quick-sets.

Bjorne, Maybe your rash is caused by tegaderm.

My problems with the pool is the humidity that seems to unstick the adhesive very quickly. But since I post this message, I think that I corrected the situation because since this time Samuel did not had any irritation under his site. Now, I dont put any tegaderm on the site. Juste the adhesive of the silhouette. It dry faster and it stay in place as well.

the rash was worse when I didnt have Tegaderm and the first Tagaderm was defect the rest didnt fall off. However I got allergic to tegaderm too. I got this new plastic film today "PolySkin".

It looks and feels much better than Tegaderm :)

I hope this works,
I discussed SoftSet with my nurce and she said I should try PolySkin first :)
