Does anyone here use one and have any reviews of it? I've only read a little on it and I hear its not completely accurate, like it only shows trends and the timing is a little off?

From what I have read about it there are two versions. The first one took a reading every 20 minutes and the second every 10. When you first put it on or change sensors a finger stick is done to set up the calibration of the watch. The watch works for something like twelve hours before the sensor needs to be changed. It's also pricey and depending on what type of monitor your using you could do finger sticks every 20 minutes for less money, but that was when it first came out and I have no idea what the current price is. The other disavantage and it does affect the accuracy is if your active and start sweating or get it wet where the sensor is the readings are thrown out of whack, other than that the accuracy is fairly acceptable.

what is this? Is it really like a watch that reads your sugar or is it stuck in you like the pump?

I didn't know that the sensor needed to be replaced every 12 hours...

Michelle, basically its like a large wristwatch (I wonder if it actually tells time too :p ) The sensor does need to be calibrated with your morning sugar reading...from that point, it monitors approximately if your sugar is dropping or rising, and I think the time difference is around 10 minutes (meaning, if you sugar rises to like 150, it was actually 150 10 minutes ago.) I might be totally off on that fact but it's what I understand...

Basically it works by the sensor heating up the skin, and somehow reading your sugar level that way. I've been told for some people they can get skin irritations, and that the watch/sensor needs to be moved on top or under your arm sometimes, or adjusted to different locations up and down your forearm...

I have a hectic schedual often, so having this would be easier than me having to stop and check sugar, although I'm debating whether taking 2-3 minutes several times a day really adds up, heh...

I would have thought saving money on test strips would have been awesome, but if there's a sensor that needs replacement every 12 hours....well...I need to do the math, maybe its still cheaper but I doubt it...

The last I heard, the price was around $600.00. I had planned to buy one when the projected price was around $250.00 but I can't afford the actual price. The cost of the replacement sensors isn't bad but I can't recall what it is right now. I'll look around and see if I can find something more definite on prices.
