Hello friends,
Lately I've been very down and uncontroled. I went to see my parents. I was driving alone for 900 km my bs was satisfactory and......in the night >>surprise... around 0130 h i had hypo 28. Afterwards my bs results went crazy (300-407). I am like that for 10 days now and I am not getting better. I am feeling so unhappy. I am on Landus and Humalog.
Anyways, just to let you know.....I decided to start with new therapy because I want to conceive. My endo advised that since landus is not tested for pregnancy, I will have to change the insulin and use protophane + humalog.
Starting from tomorrow, for one week I'll be using just protophane, 2 times per day (0800 in the morning and 2000 in the evening). During the following days, we'll see how higher will the bs get, will make changes at first for protophane and then determine the dose for humalog.
Wish me luck!
regards,
Natalia

Good Luck Natalia (that is such a pretty name). Just do what your doctor advises and take care of yourself. Wow, those are some wild swings in numbers !!

Hi Natalia: :hello: I'm sorry to hear that your bs have been out of whack that long. I sure hope that your new Insulin therapy/regime gives you your
control back very soon. I wasn't aware that Physicians didn't know the outcome from Lantus being used during pregnancy. That's eye-opening.
Well, I certainly wish you the Very Best of Luck in your new treatment.
Please keep us posted, Thanks. :) Take Care. :flowers:

Hi Natalia
I hope you manage to get your bs under control very soon so that you can start trying for a baby. My husband & I are going to go see my doctor next month to discuss starting a family & I've been working hard on my numbers too. It's frustrating isn't it when you can't get your bs under control but try not to stress about it as that can raise them too apparently. How's it going on the job front? I seem to remember you have a stressful job & were considering a change or getting someone in to help out.
All the best.

Sorry to hear you are having such a time getting the BG under control. It seems that us diabetics have to put a lot of effort into every phase of life. Polyanna would come with a "The extra effort we have to put into life makes us more grateful for what we have." (I watched that show for the first time in years a week or so ago. I love the philosophy of the "glad game".)
Good luck with your new regime.

Thanks guys,
I feel so exhausted. I am drinkink water all the time, but like you said I have to be patient. I try not to worry to much, but during this period I lost weight (2.0 kilos). Now I have 56 kilos. Maby I should look at the positive side of having diabetes and being able easily lose weight and look like a model now?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow! Should someone be jealous to me?! Little black humor, does not harm too much. -:) :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) ))))) i sure hope I won't get any thiner!!!!!!!!!!
I still have my stressful job but I will get help on that. I know I won't be running from place to another like I do now.
I found a private endo who knows about pregnancy too.
I just wish to get the necessary control over my bs. Will I? This concerns me only.
In five minutes I have to put the new insulin (protaphane) for the first time. I hope that miracle will happen. I'll keep you informed.
regards,
Natalia
