Hello everyone...
Tonight I was invited to a meeting at a local TV station that is holding a gathering of Diabetics (T1) and a few doctors form Europe, Argentina to be exact. They are speaking of the infamous, implantable pumps. These doctors plan on begining these surgeries next year. I know there was a post on here regarding this and all the complications, such as infections with this,I want to have good info on all this, really I would want to take you all w/me, but thats a stretch lol. If you can pitch in all your comments to through at them, I will take it all w/ me.
BTW, this all came from a mother of a diabetic lil boy that takes 5 shots a day. They tried the ANMAS and she didnt like it. :hmmmm:
Ill be waiting.......

I would LOVE a reliable implantable pump. The reason I haven't gotten one is because of my activity level, specifically with dance, performing, and musical theatre, and I know it just would get entirely in the way and draw too much attention to ever work for me right now. Please, if you get any valuable information on this issue, I would love to hear about it. My dream would be to have one of them! Well, my dream would be to be cured, but I suppose that's the next best thing. One question I have is, how would you replace the insulin? Anyways, any and all details of how it would work and the feasability would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Argentina isn't in Europe, it's in southern South America.
So, are they having Drs, from Europe and Argentina?

Here is one of the things They will be talking about (not selling). http://store.myglycostore.com/go/adv_ambrotose/GA001
The lady I spoke to abput earlier seems to have a LOT of hope for her son, like we all do for a cure. Yet, she gave me the impression she still has a lot of gorund to cover, a lot to experience.

I'll bet President Bush thinks Argentina is in Europe . . . if he's actually aware of Europe or Argentina.

Ok....
This was the meeting tonight..... There was one Doctor present at this seminar. He has 7 children, and the youngest has T1 diabetes. In Argentina they are using a stem cell technique to treat Diabetes. He had his youmgest son go through w/ this about 6 months ago and he went from 5 shots to 1, only 2 tests a day, and NO lows.
This is what I was given:

Moved and Seconded
The doctors began by extracting bone marrow in a procedure that required 10 minutes of general anaesthesia.
Ouch I do believe I'll be sticking(no pun) with my 31 gage needles, Thank You, very Much.
