There are a few cases like that in the Police World. At hiring time many police departments will discriminate against hiring based on diabetes since they have no idea what could happen. Stress causes BG levels to change dramatically, right? But many departments still hire diabetics and just make them give them copies of their doctor records all the time to be safe.

Yes.. Thats the case here in MDPD and most probably all of Florida.

There is also a few diabetic police officers and firemen that I work with.

I wonder if they Are they T1 or T2 or use an Insulin pump.....

I meantioned this before, but I was just hired by the USPS and it was a big pain in the a** trying to going through the medical screening. It took me two months to finally satisfy them but I did get in thankfully. BTW I'm insulin dept on an MM512.
