ahhhh sorry but you can't "fix" diabetes. It is a chronic medical condition that she will have for the rest of her life. It is necessary for her to treat a low because if she doesn't she ain't going to live very long.
You need to be supportive, learn about her medical condition and help her cope with it.

If she doesn't want to put weight on then she needs to watch her diet and exercise on a regular basis. That isn't a big secret :)

Yes pumps help a lot. I immediately cut my insulin dose by 50% and it makes it easier to loose weight. DIabetes is VERY complicated and difficult on the body. Insulin, our only remedy, keeps us from loosing weight (unfortunately).

Give or take, mine was $6500.00 (MM 715). Does she have insurance? A lot of Insurance companies either cover it completely or a portion. You also have to deal with all the supplies to maintain a pump.

I hate to say, but all Diabetics are different and your question is quite difficult. Your GF might have a system that works for her and not for me and vise versa. I think that it would be great if your GF looked into getting a pump. The weight loss is the least of her problems when it comes to Diabetes.
