Last night I had a hypo & my tongue & lips felt all numb - has this ever happened to anyone else?

It used to happen to me a lot. That was the primary way I knew my blood sugar might be low. My symptoms tend to change over time, though.

Yup, it's one of my more recent symptoms I experience and my tongue stays numb and tingly for a good long while.

Do any of you get extremely hot when you're hypo? In the past month, I've woken up about 4 times in the middle of the night because I've been burning up, and I realize that I'm very very low (usually somewhere in the 30s when this happens). I used to always get very chilled when I was hypo, so this has been puzzling me recently. The fact that I'm hot normally wakes me up, which is lucky considering how low I am! Just curious if anyone else has ever experienced this. Thanks!

my entire body breaks out into a sweat when I get real low... and I start to shake and my vision gets blurry....

Do any of you get extremely hot when you're hypo? Yes, that too, but usually only with nighttime hypos, I will wake up with drenched sheets, then get the chills. Daytime hypos I get a brief sweat followed by chills but nothing like the nighttime ones.

Yes it happens to me on occasions too. And the nighttime hypp's.....good thing I get hot and it wakes me up or I would never wake from one.

I haven't experienced the tingly lips and tongue. I have experienced the hots and sweats that others mentioned at night and daytime both.

How interesting! I just think it's interesting that we all have different bodies but we experience a lot of the same symptoms to warn us that we're hypo (i.e. nighttime sweats).

:DYup, I've sounded drunk too.

I've had the numb, tingly lips but not my tongue.

Have had night and day sweats in my yrs. but the
chills only came after a sweat when I was asleep not
after walking around having a hypo. I hate the chills unless
it's summer of course. :)( I think I'm kidding about that
last one. :hmmmm: ).

I think it is safe to say that many of us have a range of different symptoms when it comes to hypo's. I myself have had many strange occurences. This topic was also discussed in this thread and I think you should take a look at it just to see what others have experienced
