Hi Giz,
I just got the 715. It sounds like if you are having to add 20 carbs then your ratio is off. My ratio is 1:6. However, many others have a 1:10 or better. The sensitivity is set at 40 for me. My blood sugar will lower 40 points for every one unit of insulin I give.
Your ratio is sort of a trial and error thing. What you want to do is pick a meal that you are sure of the carbs. Test two hours after the meal and if you are high, you may have to change your ratio. It took me quite awhile to determine that I am somewhat insulin resitant and that I am a 1:6.
The sensitivity is used during a correction. If you are say 200 after a meal, how much insulin do you have to take to get in target range. I have set my target at 90-120. Check and see how much insulin you need to correct. Then you will know what your sensitivity is.

There are certain calculations you can figure but you can also go through the trial and error. Do you have an Endo or did the nurse just give you a basic ratio so you start?
Most people on a pump simply go w/ a basic ratio and then, by eating and testing (A LOT) they see where to adjust. You can have different ratios at different times of the day .
If this helps any, I weigh around 148 lbs and am pretty sensitive
Ratio :12
Sensitivity 44
Target 99
