what does neuropathy feel like?

Hi - I am new - 33 yrs old, been type 1.5 for a few years and always a1c under 6 - trying metformin but too early to tell if it is working. I have been getting a weird, mild, tingling sensation in my legs and feet. Could it be nerve damage already? new meds? I am paniky and trying to wait til tuesday to talk to me endo. any advice would be great.

With an A1c under 6 I would not expect to see nerve damage, but not rule it out either. New meds or old meds check out medlineplus or rxlist and look up the side affects of the meds your taking before you see the endo. Do you sit a lot at your job? Thinking of circulation problems and if you sit a lot a different chair and an increase in walking would be in order.

I have been Type 1 for almost 30 years. I have had one bout with Neuropothy about 10-years ago, and it was beyond painful.

It lasted about 9 months total, and I was on pain meds until it subsided. I haven't had any problems since.

It didn't start out as a tingling sensation - it was pain, and I mean pain that increased to a point I could barely walk and ended up in the emergency room.

What you are describing does not sound like Neuropothy to me.

I have always had an A1C under 6. For as long as I can remember I've had issues with the legs going numb, tingling and being painful. Recently I noticed the inability to feel anything in a couple toes on my right foot. I went to an endo who said I have neuropathy beginning in that foot.

While not likely it is possible to have an A1C under 6 and develop neuropathy.
