So, I have a blood test this morning at 7:20 a.m.

I don't actually get in to the test until 7:45 a.m.

I get up everyday at 5:30 a.m. like clockwork. My BG was 147 when I woke up (not great, not horrible.)

BUT - I can't take my insulin or eat until after my test at almost 8:00 - and my BG had risen to 200 by that time.

Just venting because I hate that, and there isn't a whole lot I can do about it.

I didn't want to take insulin before going, as having a massive Hypo while waiting to get my blood drawn would not have been fun.

/venting OFF

I feel that pain. I had to do a test once and wasn't allowed to eat/drink (besides water) /take insulin (besides the basal of my pump) for 12 hours before. I woke up that morning and was running 54. So I HAD to eat or drive 30 minutes to the doctor's office running low. So I called them and ate, but I feel your pain. That's my vent on that issue.

Once again, I say that all medical folks that deal with diabetics should have to experience diabetes for awhile. They ought to have to wake up some night pouring sweat, feeling as if they can't breathe and their insides shaking apart from a hypo. They should have to run high for a morning and learn just why 'we' are somewhat testy and difficult at times.

Yeah, I've been there, done that and even have the t-shirt.(Diabetesforums t-shirt, that is.:shakehand )
